Forget words—in Codenames: Pictures you identify the right agents using ambiguous illustrations. A one-word clue can connect multiple cards at once, but it can just as easily lead you to the opposing team… or to the assassin.
Two teams, two Spymasters, and a shared table full of cards. Within your team there’s discussion and brainstorming, while across from you stand opponents with the same goal—reveal their agents before you do.
The game includes a large number of unique images, and only some of them are laid out each time—so you’ll get new combinations and fresh associations again and again. The illustrations are intentionally open to interpretation, making every game unique.
Split into two teams and reveal your agents as quickly as possible. Two Spymasters know the secret key that determines which pictures belong to your team, which are neutral, and which hide the assassin. A Spymaster may give only a one-word clue and a number—and the team must correctly choose the matching pictures.
Every round is tense: a wrong guess immediately ends your turn and may help your opponents. Correctly identifying one of your agents, on the other hand, lets you continue and turn a clue into a string of spot-on reveals. Thanks to the large supply of illustrations and key cards, the game has high replayability and always brings new associations and plenty of laughter.
