A lightning-fast observation card game where you look for matching symbols inspired by Japanese culture. Simple rules, quick rounds up to 10 minutes, and language-independent gameplay make it an ideal choice for parties and family play.
Mixmash! Japan is a fresh party game that will seriously test your eyesight and quick reactions. In an ever-changing spread of minimalist icons, you try to spot two identical cards as quickly as possible. The challenge is increased by small, geometrically styled symbols and a limited color palette, which makes many motifs look very similar at first glance.
How to play (basic competitive variant):
- Your goal is to be the first to get 5 sets made up of 2 or 3 identical cards.
- Split the deck among the players into face-down piles.
- One by one, you reveal one card “from yourself” so the others can see it.
- As soon as someone spots two identical cards, they must immediately place their hands on them.
- That player wins the pair and lays their sets in front of them. Some motifs appear three times in the game, so you can take a set an opponent has already collected.
In addition to the classic competitive game, the rules include more ways to play: team mode, a fully cooperative timed variant, and also a ring for true masters of observation. The atmosphere of Japan is further enhanced by the included inspiration booklet.
