Timeline Twist is a new edition of a popular family game in which you try to correctly arrange events in time. Each player works with their own cards, and the team collectively decides whether to place a card onto the timeline or discard it instead. The goal is to get as many events as possible into the correct position and finish with the highest score.
How to play:
- At the start, each player receives 4 cards and places them in front of them with the side without the date face up.
- One card with a revealed date is placed in the middle of the table as the start of the timeline.
- On your turn, either add up to 2 cards to the timeline or discard 1 card.
- You don’t need to know the exact year — try to estimate the event as well as you can and place it as close as possible to one end of the timeline.
- If the date fits between two cards already on the timeline, the card is placed into the so-called empty row above them (if that spot is already occupied, you will have to discard it at the next opportunity).
- Play continues until the deck is exhausted. Scoring: a card on the main timeline = 2 points, a card in the empty row = 1 point, a discarded card = -1 point.
