A clever puzzle with an expanding grid over 3 rounds
Choose spirits by the pond, fit shapes into the forest, and optimize the space, which expands each round (4×4 → 5×5 → 6×6). Between rounds the forest changes, so every playthrough pushes you to find a new best solution.
Objectives, replayability, and a solo mode
Score by fulfilling objective cards for different types of spirits and for trees. Thanks to variable decks and the fact that only some cards are used each game, it stays fresh. There are also simplified variants and a solo mode.
Is that a light luring you at the end of… a branch? A curious cat creeps into the forest, and you follow. In Lumilas, you choose spirits at a mysterious pond and use them—together with tree tiles—to assemble shapes in your forest so they match the given objectives as well as possible. Each round brings new possibilities—the forest gradually grows, but it also changes between rounds, so you need to constantly rethink your plan.
How the game plays:
- On your turn, you choose a spirit at the pond and decide which of the offered shapes you will use in your forest.
- You take the corresponding number of tree tiles (one tile is replaced by the spirit itself) and place the shape into your grid so that at least one tile touches a part already placed.
- Space is limited: in round 1 max 4×4, in round 2 5×5, in round 3 6×6.
- There is also a “tree turn” to fill empty spaces and a kitty helper that expands tactical options.
