The game is played in five rows, and cards are added according to their value. This makes the table state quick to read and every decision has an immediate impact.
The cards have highly visible numbers and playful illustrations, so it’s easy to evaluate play order and what’s (not) worth picking up.
The Bull Baron can save the day because it can be added to any row. At the same time, it’s dangerous—if you have to pick it up, you’ll usually take the most penalty points.
6 nimmt! Bull Baron is a simple yet surprisingly tense card game for families and groups of friends. Each round, players choose a card, reveal it simultaneously, and then the cards are added one by one to 5 rows by value—from lowest to highest.
The key is the “color to color” rule: you may add a card only to a row whose last card shares at least one bull color with your card. As soon as you place the 6th card in a row, add the 6th bull of that color, or your card doesn’t fit anywhere, you must take the row—and every collected bull head means penalty points.
This edition also introduces the eccentric Bull Baron: its card can be added to any row, which can get you out of trouble. But watch out—whoever picks up the Baron usually takes a hefty serving of penalty points.
