The Mirage kit depicts Torpedoboot V106 (SMS V106), a German large torpedo boat whose keel was laid in 1914 and which entered service in January 1915. The model will please builders looking for a compact warship in a smaller scale and who want to enjoy choosing their own colors and weathering techniques.
The real vessel reached speeds of up to 27 knots and carried armament consisting of 2× 52 mm guns and 2× 450 mm torpedo tubes. The ship was built at the Stettin shipyard Sttetiner Maschinenbau A.G. Vulcan (Stettin) and was originally intended for the Dutch navy, but after the outbreak of war it was confiscated by Germany.
