The T 478.2 series diesel locomotive was developed as a freight-oriented variant of the universal diesel-electric T 478.1 locomotives. Unlike its predecessors, it was not equipped with a steam boiler for heating passenger coaches, and was therefore intended primarily for freight service. This model faithfully reproduces the ČSD prototype in Era IV and is an excellent choice for both a layout and a collector’s display case.
The model features a high-quality drive with 4 powered axles, a flywheel, and one axle with traction tires for reliable pulling power. It also includes a modern PluX22 electrical interface and realistic lighting: 3 front and 2 rear marker lights illuminate according to the direction of travel, complemented by an LED headlight.
