The ČSD diesel locomotive T 478 2079, known among railway enthusiasts as the Bardotka, is one of the best-known locomotives of the Czechoslovak State Railways. The model faithfully depicts the 3rd production series with the characteristic pressed side panels up to the roof edge, delivering an authentic look suitable both for a layout and for a collection.
The prototype is based on the T 478.2 class, created as a freight variant of the universal diesel-electric locomotives of class T 478.1. Unlike its predecessors, it was not equipped with a steam boiler for heating passenger coaches, which made it especially suited for freight service. Here, Roco focuses on realistic execution, smooth running, and rich features including a digital interface and sound.
