The model of the T 679.1 ČSD diesel locomotive, known by the nickname Sergej, is an attractive choice for model railway enthusiasts and collectors focused on Czechoslovak railways. The real locomotives of this class were among the most powerful diesel machines of their time from 1966 onward and were used primarily in heavy freight service.
Roco places strong emphasis on realistic execution: the model impresses with its faithful ČSD livery, detailed bogies, fine separately fitted parts, and high-quality printing. Smooth and quiet running is ensured by a five-pole motor with flywheel, while three white headlights and two red tail lights switch automatically according to the direction of travel.
Thanks to the PluX22 interface, the locomotive is prepared for easy digital conversion. The NEM 362 coupler pocket with close-coupling mechanism, minimum radius of 358 mm, and robust construction make it an excellent model for realistic operation on a ČSD layout.
