The CLASSIC smoothing plane is an ideal choice for final smooth finishing of softwood and refining trued surfaces. The 45° blade with chipbreaker efficiently curls the shaving, improving surface quality and reducing the risk of tear-out. For very hard wood, we recommend using a scraper plane in the final stage.
The construction from quality beech wood with a hornbeam sole provides high wear resistance and stability. The wood is dried to 10% moisture, minimizing deformation and increasing work precision. The ergonomically shaped plane body sits well in the hand and allows sure, comfortable tool control.
