Coding logic game Guess the Code Codebreaker

One of the most effective ways to develop children’s interpersonal skills is by playing board, logic, or arcade games. They build intelligence, the ability to speak effectively, and to communicate intentions and wishes to others.

One player’s task is to create a cipher: in secret from the opponent, they choose five colored pegs and place any combination of them in the coding area, creating a unique secret code. They place them into 5 holes covered by a curtain, so they are not visible to the other player, who becomes the guesser. The opponent has 12 attempts to guess the code. In each attempt, they place pegs on the board in the order that seems closest to the secret code. Each smaller colored (usually black) peg means that one of the larger pegs of that color is placed in the guessed code in the correct position. Each smaller white peg indicates the presence of a larger peg of the correct color, but in the wrong position. In this way, the guesser has an ever-growing supply of information to solve the puzzle.

After each attempt is evaluated, the guesser takes another turn. The game ends when the guesser correctly identifies the code or after twelve unsuccessful attempts.

The coder scores as many points as the number of attempts the guesser used. If the code is not cracked, the coder gains an extra point. The winner is the player with more points after a preset number of rounds.
